Our clients are a 4,000 acre family-owned mixed farm with approximately 400 acres of top and stone fruit seeking long-term production manager to work with the existing team with a view to taking full future responsibility for fruit growing operation.

This role encompasses all aspects of growing including new plantings, pruning, crop protection and husbandry, irrigation, cherry tunnel management, picking, storage and developing all aspects of the fruit enterprise.

East Kent based. Remuneration subject to experience and qualifications. Previous top fruit growing experience and skills essential. 2 references required.

We have two options available:

Supervisor: Manage a small gang of workers in seasonal activities on a busy stone and top fruit farm – to include harvest work, thinning, tree management, pruning. Winter activity would likely be pruning.

Production Manager: Role encompasses all aspects of growing including new plantings, pruning, crop protection and husbandry, irrigation, cherry tunnel management, picking, storage and developing all aspects of the fruit enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS/LICENCES REQUIRED: Tree fruit experience essential. Sprayer tickets (PA1PA2PA3) beneficial. Full driving licence preferred.

HOURS: 5.5 days minimum, 6 days likely during harvest.
